Background
Major had hit a ceiling. Each client required 40 hours of manual work per month β pulling playlist data by hand, reformatting it into spreadsheets, and emailing reports. Their team was spending 80% of their time on data entry, not strategy. Every new client they won meant hiring another person just to keep up. The business was growing, but margins weren't. Yoran and his team at Major needed a custom Spotify analytics platform that could automate their entire data collection process and give clients real-time dashboards they could access directly. The goal: take the business from labour-intensive reporting to scalable intelligence delivery, without adding headcount.
We started with discovery calls to understand their biggest reporting problems and what they needed most. User stories helped us focus on the three things that would make the biggest difference: automatic data collection, live dashboards, and tracking competitors. We designed the solution in Figma and refined it based on Major.app's feedback. Then we built a backend system that could handle millions of Spotify data points every day, working around API limits by using multiple accounts and Rapid API. We automated playlist tracking, keyword analysis, and competitor monitoring. For the frontend, we used WeWeb to create dashboards that Major's clients could access directly. The whole system was built to scale as their business grows

The automated system generates client reports instantly, eliminating the need to hire freelancers per client and weeks of manual data collection. It gave them the capacity to expand from 6 to 186 countries without adding headcount. This platform is now the only custom Spotify analytics tool of its kind, making it the top choice for leading music labels.

When they choose a playlist, it automatically monitors key details like rankings, followers, and how well campaigns perform. It also keeps complete logs for analysis.
Tracking playlist performance across different countries used to require manual data collection, making it hard to monitor. The new platform fixed this problem. Now, users can select target countries just once, and the system automatically gathers daily ranking data from each market. This means they get all the information they need without having to do anything manually.
When playlist performance changed, they struggled to identify which updates, such as ad changes or keyword changes, were impacting results. Now, their change logging feature lets them record updates and display them on ranking charts, linking decisions to outcomes.
Smart budget allocation
Every ad dollar spent was turned into confident, data-backed investment decisions. Ad Campaign analytics show them exactly where their ad dollars are working hardest. This helps them optimise spending and prove ROI to clients
